サイケデリック、ガレージ、ブルースの感触と、独自の言葉選びから生まれる楽曲が特徴。ライブではギターとドラムの演奏をリアルタイムで処理し、ループと即興を重ねながら、2人だけで音を増殖させていく。音源を再現するのではなく、その場で楽曲の形を変えていくパフォーマンスを核としている。
2017年にFUJI ROCK FESTIVAL、2018年にRISING SUN ROCK FESTIVALとSXSWに出演。2024年には再びSXSWに出演し、イギリス・ブライトンで開催されたThe Great Escapeにも出演するなど、国内外でライブ活動を展開している。
DOMICO is a Japanese rock band led by Hikaru Sakashita (vocals/guitar), currently recording and performing as a two-piece with supporting drummer Chihiro Hosokawa.
Drawing on psychedelic rock, garage rock, and blues, the band’s music is shaped by Sakashita’s distinctive lyrics and idiosyncratic use of language. In their live performances, guitar and drums are processed in real time, with loops and improvisation layered to create a sound far beyond that of a conventional duo. Rather than simply reproducing their recordings, DOMICO reshapes each song in the moment.
DOMICO performed at FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL in 2017, RISING SUN ROCK FESTIVAL and SXSW in 2018, and returned to SXSW in 2024. That same year, they also appeared at The Great Escape in Brighton, UK. The band continues to develop its sound through new releases and live performances in Japan and overseas.
